Exceptional optical performance
in a compact form factor
Hitachi Europe Ltd, Display Products Group has announced
the introduction of a new high performance 5.0” VGA
TFT display module the TX13D03VM1CAA. The transmissive
display module provides VGA (640 x 480 pixels) resolution,
exceptional optical performance and many integrated
features. A long life, high brightness LED backlight
yields a brightness of 600cd/m², excellent display
uniformity and a contrast ratio of 400:1.

a compact 5.0” VGA display with high contrast
and an LED backlight able to deliver bright, clear
images in all lighting conditions and environments.
The main advantages provided by the LED backlight
are robustness, reduced power consumption, ease of
control and long lifetime while also dispensing with
the need for a high voltage inverter,” says

Products Group. “The TX13D03 delivers excellent
levels of optical performance and continues to demonstrate
Hitachi’s commitment to deliver a choice of
high quality, high performance displays to as many
market sectors as possible."
A number of integrated features aid and simplify
the design in process: a built in timing controller
and on board LED backlight and dimming controller.
A further feature is the image flip function which
allows a display image to be flipped horizontally
and vertically. The 6-bit RGB CMOS data interface
allows images with up to 262K colours to be displayed.
The compact, robust and feature packed display is
suitable for many applications including industrial
process control, home automation, marine instrumentation,
hand-held metering, security systems and data logging
devices.
A touch screen version of the display will also
be available, making the display module ideal for
implementing easy to use graphics driven human-machine
interfaces. The display module measures a compact
119.4mm (w) x 89.1mm (h) x 10.0mm (d) and weighs
only 114g. The TX13D03 also supports operation in
extended temperature environments of -20°C to
+70°C.
The new 5.0” VGA TX13D03VM1CAA display module
is available immediately via Hitachi Display Products
Group distribution partners across Europe.
