Latest generation IPS-Pro delivers
exceptional
optical performance for high-end applications
Hitachi Display Products Group today launches the
17-inch SXGA TX43D57VC0CAA and the 17-inch WXGA TX43D55VM0BAA
which, for the first time, bring the superior performance
of IPS-Pro to industrial LCD displays. IPS-Pro, the
latest evolution of Hitachi’s In-Plane Switching
technology provides a stable colour image from any
viewing angle. These new display products offer excellent
colour saturation with very high contrast ratios.
The black level of both displays combined with improved
transmittance helps to provide contrast ratios of
up to 1000:1. These characteristics also mean that
high brightness can be achieved without increasing
the power consumption of the backlight.
“With the launch of these two LCD displays,
customers in a wide variety of industrial and professional
markets can now benefit from the high contrast and
wide viewing angles achieved by IPS-Pro technology.
For applications where absolute image quality is
paramount these displays deliver unparalleled performance,” says
Steve Donohoe, Technical Manager for Hitachi Display
Products Group. “Previously LCD displays using
IPS-Pro were only available to a restricted customer
base, but Hitachi is now committed to offering the
performance and product lifecycle required by industrial
applications.”
Significant customer interest has already been expressed
in both models for integration into a wide range
of high-end, multi-viewer applications which demand
high optical performance. Both models are ideally
suited for use in public information displays, medical
diagnostic systems and monitoring applications. Security
surveillance and traffic monitoring as well as video
broadcast applications are also being explored.
The 17-inch SXGA TX43D57VC0CAA offers a resolution
of 1280 x 1024 pixels, a contrast ratio of 1000:1
and brightness of 270cd/m². The display has
outline dimensions of 368(w) x 306(h) x 19.8(d) and
weighs in at 2200g.
The WXGA TX43D55VM0BAA has a resolution of 1280
x 768 pixels, with a contrast ratio of 800:1 and
brightness of 370cd/m². Again weight is 2200g although
the outline dimensions change to 400(w) x 258(h)
x 22(d) in line with the widescreen profile.
The IPS-Pro technology used in both displays ensures
viewing angles of 170 degrees in both horizontal
and vertical planes, without significant reduction
in contrast. Both models feature a long-lifetime
CCFL backlighting unit.
Both products are available immediately via Hitachi
Display Product Group’s distribution partners across
Europe. Hitachi Display Products Group is also able
to design and develop customised display modules
for specific customer requirements. For more information,
