DPG PR011 - Cost optimised 7.5-inch colour VGA display from Hitachi

Hitachi Display Products Group today announced the launch of a new 7.5-inch colour STN VGA display module - the SX19. Delivering 640 x 480 resolution on a screen measuring 158mm x 188mm, the SX19 is a cost-effective single scan LCD module. It is ideal for information display and control interfaces in a wide range of applications from point of sale machines to production line control systems. Designed to present information to the user in a clear, concise format, the SX19 offers a highly flexible colour display with excellent performance. In addition to the standard model, the SX19 is also available in a high brightness version and with touchscreen.

“The SX19 has been developed to cater for the growing demand in cost-effective colour VGA screens. Increasingly, we are seeing colour displays being designed into products that traditionally might have not used a display screen. The growing levels of computerisation in everything from manufacturing systems to retail services is stimulating the need for colour displays that enable customers and users to easily interact with systems,” comments Mark Dalton, Product Marketing Engineer for Hitachi Display Products Group. “The SX19 is a cost-effective single scan LCD display that is perfect for showing images, text, icons and data.”

Using TCP construction, the transmissive screen employs a cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CFL) for backlight (with 2 x CFLs in the high brightness model) to produce crisp and detailed colour images that allow for the presentation of clear information and bright colours. The module operates at temperatures between 0° C and 50° C and weighs just 240g with dimensions of 197mm (W) x 145mm (H) x 8mm (D).

The SX19 is supplied through Hitachi Display Product Group’s distribution partners. It is available across Europe immediately.
